FLAVA Fest and Korohi o te Pēpi 2026

Te Rūnanga o Arowhenua are excited to share that they will be hosting FLAVA Fest and Korohi o te Pēpi on the field adjacent to the marae this year!

Friday 11 September | Korohi o te Pēpi + Non-Competitive Primary & Secondary Schools

Saturday 12 September | Competitive Primary & Secondary Schools

Start time: 10.00am both days

Location: Field adjacent to Arowhenua Marae

Parking & Traffic Management

Parking at the marae is restricted to event kaimahi only. A traffic management plan will be in place, similar to Hui ā Iwi. The speed limit between the two bridges will be reduced to 30km.

Drop-off & Pick-up: Huirapa Street

Public Parking: Temuka Co-op Saleyards

Shuttles: Running from both locations every 15 minutes, or when full.

Food vendors will be onsite both days, with two special fundraisers:

Friday: Te Aitarakihi Kapa Kaha BBQ fundraiser

Saturday: Peneamene hāngī masters. $20 per plate. Pre-orders are available — get hold of Pete or call the office to order 03 6159646.

Hey Parents! Caretakers! Grandparents! Want a fun day exploring Geraldine, but think the kids might get bored? How about sending them off for a day of rafting with us?

September 29th , we are running a day out on the water, aimed at young people aged 9 and up.

What’s involved? Getting wet, swimming in the river, and of course, rafting!!

Need Gear? Don’t stress, we provide wetsuits, life jackets, helmets, and the safety gear. All you need to bring is togs, thermals and fleece if you have them, swim shorts, shoes that can get wet, lunch, water bottle and your sense of adventure.

Nervous? All good, we know that new things and being in rivers can be scary. Talk to your guide when you meet them. Our job is to keep you safe and we are very well trained to do so.
