Carnegie’s Restaurant & Bar

An absolute MUST eating-out experience, Carnegie’s Restaurant & Bar is in The Old Library, built in 1914 thanks to the generosity of philanthropist Andrew Carnegie.  Functioning as Fairlie’s library until the mid-1990’s before becoming the amazing restaurant of today.

Much of the original history and charm has been retained, the wood-fire oven is now the centrepiece creating a welcoming ambience for locals and travellers. The menu captures the flavours of finest New Zealand lamb, beef, pork and salmon alongside wood fire pizzas, burgers and salads to satisfy every appetite, including the kids.  Desert Board changes daily. Cocktails a specialty.
