The Farm Barn Cafe is located in the most spectacular part of New Zealand.
On the corner of the Geraldine – Fairlie Highway (Hwy 79) overlooking the beautiful Mackenzie Country, the inland tourist route between Christchurch, Aoraki Mt Cook and Queenstown. When you walk into the cafe it has a significant rural barn vibe, high ceilings with exposed wooden beams, wooden floors and a huge warm inviting fire place area with comfy couches and a suitcase full of woollen blankets.
Ellie and her brilliant friendly team will welcome you with a bright smile. The visitors book is filled with comments about the amazing view, great coffee and hearty homemade food and baking. Local ingredients are sourced where possible and everything is made fresh on site and they even stock local home-baked specialties such as the Fairlie bakehouse pies and Denheath Custard squares. They also cater for food allergies and intolerance’s such as dairy and gluten free and can also take group bookings.
There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and is family friendly with a children’s playhouse and swing to keep the young ones entertained.
The Farm Barn Cafe also has a gift and interiors shop which is all under one roof, and is full of stunning New Zealand made merino and possum wear including brands such as Lotharian, Possum Down and Canterbury sheepskin footwear.
