27 Jan – 6 Feb: Sandcastle Competition

Crack out the bucket and spade to win prizes with this fantastic competition you can do in your own time.

Create an epic sandcastle/sculpture. Anything goes! Bonus point for creativity, and incorporating a South Canterbury theme and/or natural objects found at the beach like shells or sicks.

Prizes yet to be announced.🤫

31 Jan – 3 Feb: Sand Sculpture

Head to the festival area at Caroline Bay to watch professional sand sculptors at work.

It’s going to take about three days to complete and will be up till Feb 3 so you can head down to Caroline Bay to have a peek from the 31st.

You’ll find the sculptor busy at work near the Makary Fountain in the middle of the Caroline Bay reserve.

4 – 6 Feb: Inflatable World

The inflatables are back! Enjoy one of the largest arrays of inflatables for children and adults to enjoy.

(hours subject to change. Weather dependent)

10am – 4pm

Tickets for rides can be purchased on the day.

4 Feb:  Outdoor Movies

Once again we’ll be screening two movies on the bay during our festival. Bring a beanbag/lawn chair, some friends or loved ones, and some snacks (or opt for one of the food vendors that’ll be on site 😋) and get cozy.

4 Feb:  Giant Beach Dig

Get your toes (and fingers) in the sand and dig up some prizes.

5 Feb:  Lazy Sundays

Chill out on the bay with a picnic, a blanket, and some live music.🎶

We’ve got local artists Liz Leroy & Steve Nally, with more to be announced.

6 Feb:  Kite Day

A crowd favourite during last year’s festival is back again.

Experience a sky full of giant, stunning kites flown by professional kite flyer’s right here on Caroline Bay. There will be over 50 kites to be seen in this impressive display! 🪁
