This two-day training equips health and safety representatives, committee members, and individuals with a vested interest or responsibility for workplace health and safety with the essential knowledge to excel in their roles. All staff should attend this first basic Health and Safety training.
Course Content:
Legal Framework: Understand your duties and rights under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and Health and Safety Regulations.
Safety Management Systems: Explore the development of comprehensive health and safety management systems, covering policies, processes, and procedures.
Workforce Engagement: Enhance your ability to engage, involve, and represent workers effectively in health and safety matters.
Risk Management: Gain expertise in identifying and managing risks and hazards within your organization.
Incident Reporting: Understand the importance of reporting and investigating accidents, incidents and near misses and learn how to deal with notifiable events and support rehabilitation efforts.
Resource Utilization: Discover valuable resources such as Codes of Practice and Guidelines to enhance workplace safety.
Expected Outcomes:
By the end of this course, participants will be well-prepared to serve as effective health and safety representatives, committee members or those with roles that include the responsibility for health and safety, by fostering increased worker engagement and participation, and contributing to the development of a robust safety culture within their organisations.

This training program covers all the material required to complete Unit Standard 29315. Please note that the assessment fee to obtain the unit standard certification is not included in the course cost. Assessments can be arranged following the course if required. Feel free to contact the Chamber prior to the training if you wish to pursue the Unit standard certification.
