At The Geraldine Cheese Co (formally Talbot Forest Cheese), we mix traditional cheesemaking skills with innovative techniques, handcrafting small-batch cheese varieties that are driven by flavour. Our wide range of cheeses are delicious, indulgent and exceptionally moreish.
We’re heroically local
Our brand was originally named after the local forest which in bygone days covered the very spot on which the flagship shop and on-site factory still stands. Nestled in the picturesque town of Geraldine, approximately two hours south of Christchurch, and at the foothills of the Southern Alps. A mecca for quality raw ingredients and incredible artisan food producers, Geraldine Cheese Company is a heroically local brand. Many of our cheese varieties are named in honour of local geography.

The Geraldine Cheese Co is located in Four Peaks Plaza on Talbot Street, right in the heart of Geraldine. Discover Epicurean delights and cuisine ingredients in the retail shop which stocks an exclusive range of locally produced delicatessen and homeware products to complement the range of uniquely handcrafted cheeses. While sampling the cheese you can learn about the history, manufacture and pleasures of cheese from our knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Our shop also boasts a unique selection of premium New Zealand ice cream crafted with the finest, freshest dairy cream, the flavours are fabulous so why not treat your tastebuds.
