South Canterbury farmer Raymond Bowan grew up around potatoes. What started as an after school job and evolved into a lifelong dream has gone on to become a true Kiwi success story for the Bowan family.  Today, they  fulfilling that dream – producing their own potato chips, in their own factory, from their own potatoes. “That way” said Raymond, “I know these are quality potato chips that I’m proud to put my name on”

The chips in every packet of Heartland Chips are made from potatoes grown on Bowan family farm at Fallgate, just outside of Timaru, South Canterbury.  Fresh from the ground they are transported 30km down the road to the Heartland Chips factory in Washdyke, where they are batch cooked in a special blend of all-natural oils.

From the factory, Heartland Chips are sent straight to the supermarkets, often arriving later the very same day they were prised from the ground. How’s that for freshness!

A family of chip lovers, there are several ‘chips off the old block’ at Heartland Chips. Each stage of the crop is carefully monitored by Raymond and Adrienne’s son James (Fallgate farm manger)  and daughter Charlotte (Heartland Chips general manager) so that only the very best potatoes will end up in your Heartland packet.
