The South Canterbury Drama League

The South Canterbury Drama League has a 95-year history of producing quality theatre and is housed at it's pupose built theatre, The Playhouse in Timaru. With rehearsal spaces, a workshop, a well established costume hire business, top quality sound and lighting and a one hundred seat theatre, The Playhouse lives up to it's name as “The Home of Theatre”. With a rich history of presenting plays, theatre restaurant and musical productions, the League is lauded by critics and audiences alike for setting the highest standards of theatre and produces around ten shows a year. Staging theatrical productions for a wide range of performers and audiences, is such an important part of developing and nurturing a vibrant arts community in South Canterbury and this is where the League leads the way.
