Focused on management responsibilities, due diligence, and creating a strong health and safety culture.

Team Leader – Understanding Supervision
Tuesday, 24 February, 9.00am – 12.30pm
Designed for team leaders and supervisors to build confidence, improve communication, and understand their role in effective supervision.

Business Masterclass With Gary Rooney – Doing Business in South Canterbury
Thursday, 26 February, 5.30pm – 7.30pm
An evening masterclass exploring what it takes to successfully do business in South Canterbury, with insights from local experience.

Join Flying New Zealand at South Canterbury Aero Club in Timaru for an action‑packed celebration of sport flying as we co-host the Flying NZ National Flying Championships and Trans‑Tasman Wings Competition. Over four days, pilots, club members, and aviation fans will gather at our club to compete, connect, and enjoy everything that makes general aviation special.

About the event
South Canterbury Aero Club is proud to be the host club for the 2026 Nationals and Wings International Trophy, welcoming aero clubs from all over New Zealand and Australia.

With more than 90 years of history behind these championships, this is where regional champions come to battle it out for New Zealand’s top flying honours and the coveted Wings Trophy.

Watch a full programme of flying events, including precision flying, aerobatics, life raft dropping, formation flying, bombing, navigation, and streamer cutting.

See historic and modern aircraft in action, support your club’s team, and experience close‑up the skill and professionalism of New Zealand’s sport pilots.

Sidekick Chamber Golf Classic – The South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament on 19th March 2026.  

The venue for this tournament is Gleniti Golf Club. Our Golf Tournament is a popular, team building event with novice and pro golfer Chamber Members.
 
An Ambrose tournament (teams of 4) makes golf fun for all, with many managers using the day as a reward for diligent employees, a networking opportunity with clients.

Upon arrival all participating teams receive a goodie bag packed with items to support them during their time on the golf course along with the Placemakers BBQ and DB Beverages. The tournament starts with a registration from 9:45am, debrief at 10:00am and a shotgun start at 10:30am.

BBQ and refreshing drinks are available on the course.

Sponsor holes offer fun activities along the way.

At the end of the tournament golfers enjoy a delicious grazing table and a fun prize giving with loads of great prizes at the club house.
