Car display NZ Silver Fern Rally

Over seven days, 53 cars and support crews will travel about 3000 kilometres, including more than 1000km of special stage racing, through the South Island, with the race flagging off at Riccarton Raceway in Christchurch on November 23.

South Cantabrians will be able to view the classic cars over two nights at Caroline Bay. The cars will be on display and it’s completely free to view on both days. So, come on down, see the cars and meet the drivers.

This is an iconic event that started in the 70s. It took a hiatus before it was brought back in the early 2000s.

Day three of the rally would see the cars arrive in Timaru, with day four to include eight race stages just out of town. After a second night in the town competitors would head to Dunedin via Dansey’s Pass.

The cars will be on display at Caroline Bay on November 25 and 26.
