We are holding a cross-party Youth Politics information meeting for youth.
Their voice and their part in influencing our democracy is not only valid, but encouraged and valued.
It will take place on March 19th at 5pm and will be held at the South Canterbury Eco Centre in Timaru. They may take part remotely if they wish.
It will be an opportunity for local youths to know that there are opportunities to take part in volunteering and other activities in the political landscape. That they can join or support a political party of their choice and bring their own life experiences and perspectives to give a unique contribution to wherever the political spectrum that they connect with or relate to.
You don’t have to be a political or debating team nerd to come along, all are welcome.
It’s an opportunity for the youth in regional Selwyn, Rangitata, and Waitaki to be informed about the political parties and give them the chance to have an informed decision on whether or not it’s right for them.
Parties invited will include the National Party, NZ Labour Party, the Green Party of Aotearoa New Zealand, Te Pāti Maori, ACT New Zealand, New Zealand First, and The Opportunity Party. Parties that will attend are still yet to be confirmed.
